I have known Karen for years as a premier Myers-Briggs instructor. Dr. James Stillwell Adult Life Pastor, Immanuel Baptist Church, Lexington, Kentucky
To Whom It May Concern: This letter is to serve as a recommendation for The Ministries of Designed Diversity. Karen Hughes helped lead a Spiritual Gifts and Personality Profile Workshop at our church in June of 2004. The workshop itself helped to bring a diverse group of people into a better understanding of how God has gifted them for works of service in His church. It was a weekend full of fun and excitement, as individuals began to see where they could serve the body of Christ. Following the workshop over half the group continued to meet for a few weeks to formulate three new ministries within the church. These new ministries are in direct correlation to the help that Karen brought to our church. I would recommend this for any church without hesitation. Karen is a true gift to the body of Christ. I look forward to seeing how the Lord continues to use her and Designed Ministries for His glory. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
Dear Seminar Participant, In late 2003, our young adult group from church set out for an all day Saturday retreat. We had long felt the need to get out of town and spend a day retreating from the hectic schedules. Karen brought the idea to us about doing a spiritual gifts retreat. She has spent a great deal of time in the secular world working with the various personality studies that are out there and wanted to bring elements of that into a session of seminars that also incorporated a focus on spiritual gifts. So we set out to begin planning our one day retreat. Karen secured the assistance of several others to help make our Saturday one that would impact us as we closed out the year 2003 and looked ahead to 2004. The one day retreat concept worked well for our group. We were able to spend quality time learning through the various seminars and also had the opportunity to have a couple sessions of worship built into the day. I think as we all walked away from the day we knew that this is just what we needed. Several of us were made aware of things about our personality that we had not considered before the day began. We also began to learn about each other and what makes us tick and where we have similarities. Among the group we found various personality types but also various spiritual gifts. Karen does an excellent job leading you through the varying aspects of the personality studies and gives you a very detailed description of how to better understand who you are. From that understanding you are able to better address your spiritual gifts and what areas you can be of most service in the kingdom. I would highly recommend a weekend seminar for your church group, your workplace, your Sunday School class, or your church staff. It will give you an excellent perspective on one another. Karen is a very organized and articulate leader when it comes to this area and she has always had a passion to aid people in their understanding of who they are and who the people are that surround them. May God bless you in where you are and the people that He has surrounded you with. Serving Him, Matt Huston Minster of Single Adults/Recreation Westport Road Baptist Church, Louisville, KY
